If you want to get to the place of happiness, you have to choose it. Once you decide to be happy, your next step is to begin the process of accepting exactly where you are at this very moment. Acceptance is one of the keys to happiness. You can't move beyond that until you do. Acknowledge what you feel in the moment and accept that is exactly how you feel. Resisting it will only bring on suffering. Therefore blocking your happiness. If you take a moment to breathe, acknowledge and write down anything that you are feeling or any memories or triggers or activations that come up will encourage you to move through them quicker. You may need to take a moment to sit in those emotions that you dislike to help you move through them. So throw yourself that pity party, play music, watch a movie or read a book to access those emotions. Often the emotions that have been denied for a prolonged time can have difficulty surfacing so, using some tools to help access them will help you to move through quickly. You can be so numbed out that you may not even know what the emotion is. Journal as much as you can to access those emotions and memories. You may need to write a letter to someone (Do Not Send It.) write it out and then burn it. It will release all the energy attached to that person or situation. If you don't take the time to connect with your emotions they will find a place in your body to be held. The body holds onto emotions and so it will send you messages letting you know that there is still something that needs to be acknowledged and healed. Be kind to yourself, do the work, acknowledge, accept, let go and allow happiness to be embodied. Acknowledge joy and happiness with gratitude so that more may enter your daily life freely.
