Why Is My Pendulum Not Working?

I love my spiritual tools for divination
I remember many years ago I was learning to use a pendulum to ask questions to gain clarity. It really is a great tool for that, and I would use it quite often, especially if I was feeling unsafe and unsure. 
The problem is that I was using it when I felt desperate and not trusting myself. I would keep asking the same questions to get the answer I wanted rather than the one I needed.


Using any tool in that state of desperation will not give you the answers you clear answers.
I was working with a spiritual mentor at the time and I told her that no matter what I would ask it, the pendulum would not move except for shaking in its place. I said I don't understand why it's not working anymore. My mentor tuned in to why; I kind of knew what she was going to say but I needed confirmation.
The truth is I already knew the answers, and the pendulum was not going to help me anymore until I allowed myself to trust my intuition. My mentor confirmed this.
It was time to stop relying on external tools and trust myself.
The tools are there to help but not to be overused, and some tools like the pendulum can be influenced by your thoughts and emotions. So it's important to have a clear mind and be in a neutral emotional state so the answers can be clear.
So yes, use your tools but don't rely fully on them because you have the answers inside you. Tune into your heart; it knows the truth.

Getting To The Place Of Happiness

​If you want to get to the place of happiness, you have to choose it. Once you decide to be happy, your next step is to begin the process of accepting exactly where you are at this very moment.

Acceptance is one of the keys to happiness. You can't move beyond that until you do. Acknowledge what you feel in the moment and accept that is exactly how you feel. Resisting it will only bring on suffering. Therefore blocking your happiness.

If you take a moment to breathe, acknowledge and write down anything that you are feeling or any memories or triggers or activations that come up will encourage you to move through them quicker.

You may need to take a moment to sit in those emotions that you dislike to help you move through them. So throw yourself that pity party, play music, watch a movie or read a book to access those emotions. 


Often the emotions that have been denied for a prolonged time can have difficulty surfacing so, using some tools to help access them will help you to move through quickly. You can be so numbed out that you may not even know what the emotion is.

Journal as much as you can to access those emotions and memories. You may need to write a letter to someone (Do Not Send It.) write it out and then burn it. It will release all the energy attached to that person or situation.

If you don't take the time to connect with your emotions they will find a place in your body to be held. The body holds onto emotions and so it will send you messages letting you know that there is still something that needs to be acknowledged and healed.
Be kind to yourself, do the work, acknowledge, accept, let go and allow happiness to be embodied.

Acknowledge joy and happiness with gratitude so that more may enter your daily life freely. ​

3 Tips To Manage The Empaths Energy

Are you an empath?
Do you feel the emotions of others as if they were your own?
If so, you might find it hard to cope with the overwhelming feelings that come your way. Here are three tips to help you manage being an empath and protect your energy.

1. Set healthy boundaries. You don't have to say yes to everything or everyone. Learn to say no when you need to, and respect your own limits. You are not responsible for fixing other people's problems or making them happy.

2. Practice self-care. Being an Empath can be draining, so you need to recharge your batteries regularly. Do things that make you feel good, like meditation, exercise, hobbies, or spending time with loved ones. Remember that you matter too, and your needs are important.

3. Ground yourself in the present. Sometimes, empathy can make you lose touch with your feelings and reality. To avoid this, I encourage you to try to stay grounded in the present moment. Focus on your breath, your senses, and your surroundings.

Remind yourself of who you are and what you want.

What The Past Can Teach Us

Have you ever revisited the past?

I have learned so much about myself, my family, the planet, and humans. Looking in the past can be beneficial to learning and understanding about your life and why you do the things you do and where many of the beliefs you have developed.

Some people say, leave the past behind and move on to what is. There is definitely some truth to that, but I know for me, I like to have a deep understanding and then move on from there.
I hated history when I was in school; I saw no point to it.

The joke was on me: the profession of being a theatre makeup/hair artist is that 95% of the time I spent learning history and the way things worked. Understanding the reasons why they wore things the did with
makeup, hair, and wardrobe.  History made more sense to me, and I fell in love with it.

There is so much insight we gain by looking into the past. Looking at our families leads us to understanding and most often to compassion and hopefully to forgiveness.

Our families and ourselves did what we knew at the time. I am not excusing bad behaviour but it does bring light to it. It releases you from any poison of the past and makes room for an open-heart to move forward with freedom and compassion.

Letting go of those negative beliefs that are no longer serving you.

3 Reasons Chaos Happens After Spiritual Growth & Up-levelling Your Life.

​Oh my gosh, what do they have to do together?
Have you ever experienced a positive shift in your life? You are excited and things couldn't look any brighter to then have the rug pulled out from underneath you causing things to a halt. Those great feelings suddenly plummet and you feel like you are starting at square one.
This can often happen when we are starting to up-level from where we have been. There are several reasons for this:
 
  1. Your ego is panicked about the change and so it starts to self-sabotage.
  2. Your body is used to the chemical reactions in your body that are produced when stressed. (Cortisol and Adrenalin)
  3. The Universe is testing you to see if you truly mean what you say that you want this and that you will take action to keep going.

It can feel really frustrating being on that roller coaster ride disrupting the best-laid plans.
Humour is important in these moments by laughing at ourselves with kindness, journaling and asking questions.

 7 Questions To Ask Yourself For Clarity:
  1. What does it mean for me to be happy and successful?
  2. Where did I learn that feeling good was unsafe?
  3. How old is the part of me that is feeling unsafe?
  4. Hug her and let her know that she is safe now. Ask her if she needs anything.
  5. Notice in your body where you feel your stress and how often you create the need for the chemical reactions. This can be through interactions with people, watching things like drama, horror, sports, video games, competitions and the news. Not to say that you can't participate in these but be very mindful about it to gain knowledge about yourself and the adrenaline rush.
  6. What is the message the Universe is giving me? Is it to keep going? Do I need to tweak something? Do I need to make a complete change? Is the Universe helping me to shift even higher?
  7. Do I feel totally in alignment with things?

These journal prompts will help bring you clarity about the things blocking you and the peace to know that life is good and so much more is on its way!

I Don't Remember: Not Being Fully Present

Have you ever had a conversation with a friend about an outing you did together when you were younger and they recall so much more than you?

This can happen for several reasons but a huge one can be that although the outing may have been fun, you may not have been fully present. 

Not being present can be caused by several different scenarios. This is not shame or blame anyone it happens to many of us at different points in our lives. It can be disconcerting to not remember a situation, especially a joyful one. 
Here are some reasons that you were not fully present:
  • If you are tired
  • Worried
  • Overwhelmed
  • Overworked
  • Unhappy
  • Have a to-do list
  • Have trauma 
  • Have a different perspective than the person you were with


Often as women, we take on a lot and if you are a caregiver of your children, your parents or other loved ones. It can be challenging to be present. 

That's why self-care and support are important. 
Asking for help can feel hard but if you can do it and have the assistance of family and friends, it will help you so much. 


Also, ask for help and guidance from your doctor, they may have some resources for you. Often we just don't know who to ask or what to look for when we need a question answered. 

Self-care can be a warm bath, reading a book, talking to a friend, going for a massage, or reiki.

Taking time to journal will help as well to explore your feelings and thoughts. You can explore the past, present and future with journaling to gain clarity.
